LifeForce Yoga to Manage Anxiety
Learn an evidence-based practice that promotes a calm mind and an open heart. Evolution has favored an anxiety gene and, for many of us, it’s our default. Meet your monkey mind with an embodied practice of breathing techniques (pranayama), yogic meditation techniques, mudras, and mantra tones that calm and soothe.
For people who suffer from anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, or the negative spiral of thoughts that often accompanies depression, it’s important to learn self-soothing techniques that can allow the busy mind to rest. Our session together will relax the body, open the mind to greater self-awareness and the heart to love and acceptance of what is.
Based on her LifeForce Yoga® Yoga Practitioner Training, current research in neurobiology, clinical observation, and her forthcoming book for mental health professionals (“Yogic Strategies for You and Your Client: No Mat Required”) from Norton Professionals, Amy will discuss the clinical applications of these ancient yogic strategies for teachers and psychotherapists.
Learn to assess and meet anxiety, thereby bringing the anxious mood into balance. You will complete this session feeling refreshed, renewed, and excited about elements you can add to your at-home or teaching practice to maintain a calm mind and an accepting heart.
