Bradford Teasdale

Speaker Bio

Bradford Teasdale, LMT, has been a student of health and the human body for over 10 years. He began his study of massage therapy in Northern Thailand in 2002, where he was initiated into the art of Ayurvedic Yoga Massage. A pioneer in this tradition, he is widely recognized as one of the first licensed massage therapists qualified to practice and teach this work in the United States. Brad continued his studies at the Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy and Acupuncture in NYC, where he received a strong foundation in the western health sciences. Through the fusion of these two techniques Brad has developed a unique style of bodywork combining deep tissue massage, herbal medicine, and assisted yoga stretching.

Most recently, Brad has undertaken a practical education in herbal medicine, learning traditional preparations of plants first hand from Cheyenne elders in North America and traditional healers in Peru. He has applied this knowledge through his work with the woodland plants of the Northeast. His signature treatments feature massage with medicinal oils to deepen the relaxation and enrich the therapeutic benefits of each session.

In addition to his private clientele (including organizations such as the American Ballet Theater), Brad is a senior massage therapist at the Great Jones Spa, NYC. He is also the co-founder of the Ayurvedic Yoga Massage Guild, formed in 2007. Brad has been a devoted student of Kung Fu for 10 years, and is honored to study Northern Eagle Claw kung fu under Grandmaster Leung Shum. Brad divides his time between NYC, and the Hudson Valley hamlet of Garrison, where he also creates fine art from concrete and glass.
