Ayurvedic Rejuvenation for Daily Life
|
Category: Health and Happiness When: Sunday, February 21, 2010 Time: 8:30 – 9:30 AM |
We are creatures of habit – and these habits can build us up or break us down. In order to be able to live a life of health, well-being, happiness, and balance, we can choose to cultivate habits and perpetuate a routine that helps us to feel rejuvenated and restored. When we have a busy life with endless demands, sometimes just eating well isn’t enough. We often need to do extra practices to keep us from getting burnt out.
This seminar will provide information on what these extra practices are and how to incorporate them into our lives. Participants will receive the information necessary to help them develop a routine that supports a hectic work life, frequent family demands, yoga practice, and personal life. Through the teachings found in the art of Ayurveda (which means the science of life in Sanskrit), we will learn how to wake up happy and, if we don’t wake up happy, how to shift that energetic quality throughout the day.
We’ll get interactive in our time together and, after a brief breathing and centering exercise, we’ll review a short questionnaire to identify our body types and habits before filling out a chart to identify how we can incorporate rejuvenating practices into our daily lives.
Speaker Bio: Felicia Marie Tomasko RN, E-RYT 500, inspires people to follow the path to personal freedom and vibrant health through the practices of Yoga and Ayurveda as incorporated into an everyday modern routine. She teaches a humorous and heartfelt exploration of shakti (sacred energy) and rasayana (rejuvenation) through asana, pranayama, concentration, and relaxation. Her belief is that these seemingly esoteric traditions can be profoundly relevant to daily life and contain vital lessons on how we can learn to live with intent in the modern world. Read full bio »
